This mosaic portrait of Kamloopsian NBA star Kelly Olynyk highlights the need for sustainability by using vinyl siding that was destined for the landfill. The project was done with a sustainability grant from Thompson Rivers University and support from the City of Kamloops.
The reclaimed vinyl siding was cut on a CNC router and then attached by hand using aluminum rings.
Work in progress. You can see the grid used to place each of the seven different sized pieces.
