I wanted to incorporate wine in some way into the creation of the piece so one afternoon the clients brought over a select bottle of wine. After a few sips, we poured the remainder into foot baths. They then wet their feet in the wine and walked on the hand cut slate tiles.
The resulting wine stained tiles were incorporated into the final mosaic, which not only added increased detail, but also an interesting story to tell.
